Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium (DMEM)

DMEM or Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium is a standard medium, which supports the growth of various mammalian cells. Different formulation contents optimized for different cell culture applications can be used. It can be used to cultivate primary fibroblasts, neurons, Glial cells, HUVECs, and smooth muscle cells, as well as cell lines such as HeLa, HEK 293, Cos-7, and PC-12.

DMEM/Ham’s F-12

DMEM/F-12 is a widely used basal medium to support the growth of many different cell types. Since it is obtained by combining the formulations of DMEM and Ham's F-12 (1:1 mixture), this formulation has a rich content for cells.

Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mix

Ham’s F-12 Nutrient Mixture (F-12) was designed for serum-free, single-cell plating of Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells, lung cells and mouse L cells.

Minimum Essential Medium (MEM)

MEM is used for the growth of various types of mammalian cells, including HeLa, BHK-21, HEK 293, HEP-2, HT-1080, MCF-7, fibroblasts, and primary rat astrocytes.

Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) Alpha

MEM Alpha is a modification of MEM that contains non-essential amino acids, sodium pyruvate, lipoic acid, vitamin B12, biotin, and ascorbic acid.

Minimum Essential Medium (MEM) Hanks’ Balanced Solution

This MEM formulation contains Hanks’ salts for use without CO 2 .

Hanks’ Balanced Salt Solutions (HBSS)

Hanks’ Balanced Salt Solution (HBSS) is a buffered salt solution. Used in a variety of cell culture applications such as preparing cells or maintaining physiological pH.

RPMI 1640 Medium

RPMI 1640 medium is a widely used medium to support the growth of many cell types. It has a special formulation compared to other media with its glutathione and high concentration of vitamin content.

Glasgow's Minimum Essential Medium (GMEM)

GMEM was originally developed by Ian McPherson and Michael Stoker as a modification of Eagle’s medium. It was utilized to study the genetic factors which affected cell competence.

Glasgow’s MEM was developed for use with kidney cells lines, such as BHK-21.

Basal Medium Eagle (BME)

Basal Medium Eagle (BME) is used to support the growth of many different mammalian cells as a synthetic basal medium. BME is the simplest of the basic media with all the essential components for cell growth. BME was originally developed for HeLa cells and mouse fibroblasts.

S-Viral Transport Medium (S-VTM)

S-VTM is used for the detection of respiratory viruses; SARS-CoV-2, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and Influenza A & B viruses. It
does not require an external extraction process. It prevents contamination by inactivating fungal and bacterial pathogens. It provides a
suitable culture environment for long-term viral studies.
